BludgerTrack: 52.1-47.9 to Labor

The BludgerTrack poll aggregate continues to record a voteless recovery in Malcolm Turnbull’s personal ratings.

Two new polls this week, a particularly strong one for Labor from Essential Research and a stable one from ReachTEL, produce a 0.4% shift to Labor on this week’s reading of the BludgerTrack poll aggregate. Labor gains two on the seat projection, those being in Victoria and Western Australia. Essential provided a new seat of leadership ratings, and these conformed with the existing impression of an upswing in personal support for Malcolm Turnbull that has so far done little to improve his party’s voting intention. It doesn’t say much for the Liberal pre-selection processes if religion didn’t come up considering she is a Pastor in an evangelical church!

For the northern suburb Libs her position would be quite unremarkable . The holy rollers are swarming up there.

  2. Habituation is a bitch
The so-called Group of Seven “most industrialized countries in the world” is not just a club for the rich, but for leaders who traditionally assumed they shared the same basic values: belief in empirical facts, fundamental human freedoms, sacrosanct democratic processes, and the rule of law. All of which is to say it’s a club where Trump doesn’t fit in. He has shown he shares none of those values. Indeed, from the question of climate change to his dealings with Russia, he’s unapologetically hostile to them.

When French President Emmanuel Macron talked regretfully about making the G7, in fact, G6 plus one, he was essentially recognizing the fact that Trump doesn’t belong.

    That’s a good theory.

As elsewhere, the Christians are already a considerable influence in the WA Libs.

The point of this story is she came with a handful of votes of third place on the ticket allegedly without mentioning her Christian affiliations and then her husband gave the bizarre sermon.

If you want to represent god, start a god party.

I’m sure the religious angle works for the perpetually outraged in the ” Oh my goodness, she’s a Christian promoting Christian values ” school of bigoted political analysis.

However, as a Lib, she’s probably got more standard views on other issues that I would find more unpalatable.

So some lib preselectors are not members of Mensa?

    You surprised?

I know she won’t make the Senate but she nearly knocked off a bloke who has been touted as a talent after a run at the Reps in the seat Burt last time.

There are some in the local Libs who every now and then express disquiet at the Christian influence but seem powerless to stop it.

Any candidate with church backing won’t be short of volunteers on polling day.

When referring to those fools, “Christian” should be enclosed in quotations as their beliefs, so labelled, seem to depart radically from the teachings of the the person after whom their supposed religion is named.

I’m sure it wasn’t secret, she would have been playing the community service angle and it’s not something you would or could hide.

The question at hand should have been how her beliefs differed from the policy positions of the Party and what the impact of this would be.

  7. I think our Annabelle had a severe case of th edgar britts with the one Stutch.

Did I hear her say something like “whats the point of me talking while you are on about your prepared notes.”

Then I heard a couple of audible groans

And right at the end she (annabelle) is announced as Barries replacement while he is away overseas.

  8. Another tantrum as he takes his bucket and spade and stomps off. Does he realise his outbursts and name-calling just make him look like a grumpy old man?

Based on Justin’s false statements at his news conference, and the fact that Canada is charging massive Tariffs to our U.S. farmers, workers and companies, I have instructed our U.S. Reps not to endorse the Communique as we look at Tariffs on automobiles flooding the U.S. Market!

PM Justin Trudeau of Canada acted so meek and mild during our @G7 meetings only to give a news conference after I left saying that, “US Tariffs were kind of insulting” and he “will not be pushed around.” Very dishonest & weak. Our Tariffs are in response to his of 270% on dairy!

  9. When do the war crime trial start ? From this report ASAP.

A Special Air Service Regiment trooper on his first deployment to Afghanistan was pressured to execute an elderly, unarmed detainee by fellow higher-ranking soldiers as part of a “blooding” ritual, according to defence insiders who were witnesses at the scene.

And on the same mission, another man with a prosthetic leg was killed by machine-gun fire. His plastic leg was souvenired and later taken back to SAS headquarters in Perth to be used as a novelty beer drinking vessel.

Not ASAP enough by half, given that the headline blooding execution murder happened in 2009.

  12. Snap! jeffemu!

I don’t think Stutch will be getting an invite from Annabel while Barrie is away. 🙂

And, thank goodness he isn’t being replaced by Fran Kelly for once!

  13. I don’t get it ❗

  14. For anyone who wondered (as I did) just what prompted C@tmomma’s posts last night, here is the only article I could find:

    https://www.theaustralian.com.au/national-affairs/national-security/asio-afp-called-up-for-byelection-security-duty/news-story/b3c5e9068d332fb3ab13412f0b2b591a

It basically amounts to yet another Dutton power grab, pretending that the forthcoming elections are at risk from “foreign powers” and their dastardly cyber activities (but since we don’t have electronic voting, exactly how is not clear).

It makes a passing reference to the 2016 census …

A senior intelligence source confirmed that the taskforce was the first to be established for the sole purpose of assessing cyber defences for elections and was initiated by a request from the Australian Electoral Commission, which feared a repeat of the “denial of service” cyber attack on the 2016 census.

As you can see, there is no new “proof” of a denial of service attack, just a repeat of the claim that there was one. A claim that has never been substantiated, and which IBM later acknowledged was not the reason why they took the census site down.

  15. Maybe Wayne is the reason Turnbull called a long by-election? So Wayne has as long as possible to weave his convincing magic? 🙂

Putting Stutchin his place? Bravo. I think Annabel might be brighter (and have more spirit) than many bludgers give her credit for.

@mirandadevine Miranda, I respect your right to have a different view to me. That said, both I and a considerable number of Liberals and Nationals prioritised respect, dignity and privacy of women. I’m proud of that.

The division in the LNP continues.

Indeed. Defending our democracy is something for which Dutton is willing to sacrifice anything and anyone!

Particularly bad domineering of every topic of discussion this morning by Stutchbury. @annabelcrabb right to make her little protests. You need to facilitate better, @barriecassidy Equal time please. Stutchbury jumps in first uninvited every time. So accustomed. Anticipate it!

Following is an article on the compilation of wildest statements Trump made (he really made not made up by Fake news as he says) during the G7 press conference(i.e. in 1 press conference) before he left Canada to Singapore. The commentator called them humdinger. Some of them are so wild and incoherent, it is unbelievable( I know we are still getting surprised with his statements or phrases after watching him for 2 years). Enjoy

Thats the problem for the LNP. All Mr Shorten has to do is go on a round of interviews to undo the LNP narrative.

Mr Shorten’s appearance on QandA tomorrow night will have far more impact than Stutchbury talking over a woman (To be fair I think he would have done the same even to David Marr).

Logically , yes. However that it not the Liberal Party way. They will have a veritable lawyer’s kama sutra of legal positions ready to make a ban on Get Up but not Murdoch ok .
