BludgerTrack: 52.8-47.2 to Labor

Labor retains its solid lead on the latest reading of the national poll aggregate, although a Galaxy poll of federal voting intention in Queensland has taken some of the shine off Labor’s position on the seat projection.

The latest reading of BludgerTrack records next to no movement on national voting intention, the only new addition to the dataset being a status quo Essential Research result. However, the Coalition has picked up two in Queensland on the seat projection on the back of a relatively good set of numbers from the Queensland-only Galaxy poll published by the Courier-Mail yesterday. This found the Coalition at 39%, compared with 43.2% at the election; Labor at 30%, compared with 30.9%; the Greens on 8%, compared with 8.8%; and One Nation with 12%, compared with 5.5%. The poll was conducted Wednesday and Thursday of the week before last from a sample of 900. No new data on leadership ratings this week.

  1. And with that party political set of insults we bid adieu to this weeks parliamentary discussion of global warming and sea level rise.

    Now back to ‘unions boo’.

  2. BevanShields: Treasurer Scott Morrison now referring to his government’s own projection of a surplus in 2021 as “hypotheticals” #auspol

  3. The hipsters drink short black, macchiato or the best quality French press.

I am trying to start a trend in Turkish coffee. With the deepest darkest sugar.

  4. Puff

You are a bit behind. The media reported not far back that deconstructed coffee (whatever that is) is all the go in Melbourne hipster cafe’s

  5. Guytaur,
oh, you get all the elements served separately. I don’t think that will last. I can’t see me crunching on a coffee bean unless it is dipped in chocolate.

Deconstructed coffee is a glass of water, an unroasted coffee bean and a magnifying glass.

Only works on a sunny day, so I’m surprised they are popular in Melbourne.

  7. I tried cold drip coffee. It sort if defeats the purpose. Tasted like what I imagine to be the water used to clean a coffee filter.

  8. There’s a whole essay could be written negating Barnaby’s rant on education. I wonder if any journo will take up the challenge. No brain power needed.

  9. The Melbourne hipsters are try hard frauds.

Everyone knows dads are the original hipsters. And the cool dads drink Turkish with whisky…. pipe in hand.

  10. In Adelaide you get excellent coffee anywhere . Serving instant to your visitors is gauche.
We let Melbourne rave about their coffee scene while we drink excellent coffee in all the styles, and keep quiet about it. After all, it is just another everyday part of the Adelaidean lifestyle. Nothing to rave about, just normal.

  11. I just got back home after having my hair cut and enjoying a very Non PC Iced Coffee with Cream AND Ice Cream. Though not ‘Non PC’ to the extent they used instant coffee. : )

Rowan Dean: “Malcolm Turnbull’s survival depends on how quickly he realises that climate change is a hoax.”
Perhaps Rowan Dean is a hoax, too.

I think I can help Mr Dean.

“Malcolm Turnbull’s survival depends on how quickly he realises that HIS LEADERSHIP is a hoax.”</p

    :))

  13. Ugly scene at Adelade Airport as South African security rough up a Ch 9 journalist trying to question the SA captain re ball tampering allegations

  14. Aha,
Murray Darling Basin Plan… The LNP will be hated in SA if they tamper with that. We put in a desal plant because the buggers up the MDB regard the water system as a personal water spring.

I see fruit trees in Vic orchards watered with overhead sprinklers ffs. SA stopped doing tgat yonks ago. Have they not head of drip irrigation?

  15. Turkish coffee, of course, isnt instant coffee. It is roasted beans, finely ground, simmered in a special container and then poured unfiltered.

The best, in my experience, is served in the Czech Republic (who also make a pretty good french press) but I have enjoyed good cups in Sumatra and the highlands around Lake Prespa.

  16. Simon Katich,
If you are a fan of Real Turkish Coffee am I to assume you have been to Glebe Point Road at some stage to try the best? A cup about a finger high, pine nut in the bottom, sweet as and dark as pitch. : )

  17. C@t, it has been a while but I have enjoyed turkish coffee in that area (even tho I lived in Erko I occasionally ventured that far). I do not remember the pine nut tho.
