BludgerTrack: 51.7-48.3 to Labor

This week’s reading of the BludgerTrack poll aggregate maintains its gradual movement to the Coalition.

With the only poll this week being Essential Research’s best result for the Coalition in 18 months, the BludgerTrack poll aggregate maintains its slow and steady trend this week in shifting 0.2% to the Coalition on two-party preferred. The only change on the seat projection is a gain for the Coalition in Victoria. No new leadership ratings this week, so that’s your lot. Full results as always through the link below.

No wonder my GP flow over you on the way to Hanoi (complaining of the nine hour trip).

You have gone to the heart of the matter – correctly diagnosed by Paul Keating –

‘In the race of life, always back self-interest — at least you know it’s trying’ .

    **********************************************************************

Other never to be forgotten Paul Keating quotes:-

On the Libs: “Mr Speaker can I have some protection from the clowns on the front bench?”
On the Libs: “Those opposite could not operate a tart shop”
On Steele Hall: “The Honorable Member has been in so many parties he is a complete political harlot.”

On another matter, would somebody please turn up the thermostat please. ☮

  2. Trump’s attacks on the Special Counsel are bearing fruit.

President Trump is waging a war of attrition against special counsel Robert S. Mueller III’s investigation. If his goal is to poison the reception to whatever Mueller’s findings turn out to be, as seems evident from what he and his allies have done, he is making progress.

The slow but steady separation of public opinion underscores the degree of success in the president’s strategy. Through constant tweets in which he has used exaggeration, distortion and outright falsehoods — combined with the activities of his congressional supporters in hectoring the Department of Justice and the FBI — Trump hopes to turn the ultimate confrontation into one more partisan battle.

  3. Turnbull apparently said this of Shorten yesterday at the Liberal meeting
“We have a bigger threat from Labor than ever before. Unbelieva-Bill Shorten is the most left-wing, anti-business, high-taxing, job-destroying Labor leader in generations.”

I thought it was just Morrison saying that.

In an amusing echo from article on coalition MPs unhappy with Barnaby’s TV appearance.

“It makes you wonder whether he is even interested in the Government doing well,” one cabinet minister was quoted as saying. “He is unbelievable.”

  4. Georgina Downer is deleting constituents questions about #climatechange on her FB page then blocking them.

She has no answers, or she’s afraid to admit that she is a “denier”.

My post was not physicist kicking in any way.

What a fearless democratic warrior she is!

Doesn’t she think her electorate will be supportive of the IPA line on the matter!!! 🙂

While Australians celebrate the leap forward Ireland has taken – remember abortion still a criminal offence in QLD, NSW, Norfolk Island.

In all states & territories, except ACT, legislation is under criminal code.

I reckon the writing’s on the wall that Georgina Downer will be conducting a low-visibility campaign that solely trades on her dynastic privilege.

No, she is afraid to admit she believes it is true. Imagine how that would go down in the circles she inhabits !

Her campaign is off to a good start then.

Oh, but I’m sure she’ll have lots of pretty pictures of her around the electorate and tons of attack ads directed at Rebekha Sharkie. That should do the trick!

Anyway, it wouldn’t be Georgina Downer maintaining the facebook page, that would be a minion.

I know a number of women who have remained silent for fear of retribution from political and business circles …watching Joyce profit from his philandering with all the pain and cost caused may encourage them to come forward and expose the real story.

Let’s compare the natural affection shown in public by “Harry & Megan” with the rather distant togetherness of Barnaby and Vicki.

  14. Insiders are scraping the bottom of the barrel for their interview today. It’s Greg the Lying Hunt. Arch Christian Conservative, so we have found out recently. So I hope Barrie asks him his opinion of the Irish Abortion Referendum result. 🙂

  15. I can’t wait to see reporters at any pressers Downer Jr does continue to ask her questions on whether she believes in climate change or not, and why she feels the need to delete and block people on Facebook. Her political career will end up being shorter than Mal Meninga’s.

  16. ‘The next newspoll will be 51/49 to the coalition and ALP will looking to replace shorten with Albo and that’s the only way they will win the by elections and the next election’

Rubbish. The next Newspoll will be 50/50.

I believe you’re thinking of the one after the next one.

The 52/48 to the tories will be the killer…..but that’s a couple of months off yet.

  17. Wow! Phil Coorey was actively and consistently pushing the Liberal Party propaganda about the Income Tax Cuts! He was trying to say that, indeed, the ‘average’ income in 2024 WILL BE ~$200000! So, Tax Cuts now!

  18. Jaeger:

Thanks. That certainly explains the couple of emails I’ve received notifying me of privacy policy updates.

  19. Oh, it’s Labor that is split about Chau Chak Wing and Andrew Hastie, according to Annika Smethurst of The Sunday Herald Sun.

That’s where a nine week campaign does her no favours, they talk about having to raise her profile in the electorate but so far the little that she has done has been less than impressive.

Hi, I’m Georgina and I’m from Melbourne but I grew up in Adelaide, however I think the education here sucks so Daddy organised for me to go to Uni in Melbourne.

    to Cashes effort,

WTTE of at least she was born here.

Which had to be corrected immediately. 🙂

I can just imagine all those people sitting on a yearly income of $60,000 or $70,000 at the moment which has hardly moved over the last few years believing that. (sarcasm emoji).

As Doyley (I think it was) said yesterday, Labor should be able to drive a truck through that kind of BS.

  22. A tweet from Derryn Hinch.
If Barnyard Barnaby is getting $150,000 from Sunday Night, it makes a mockery of his pious crap in February that “ it’s a private matter and I don’t think it helps me. I don’t think it helps my family. I don’t think it helps anybody . I will keep private matters private”.

    *sigh*

Since the defenestration of the Banksters, the Murdorcs, the Institute of Paid Advocacy, the CPG, Gina the Hutt’s little helpers (Beetrooter and Reefraper divisions) and the whole panoply of the Greedy Arseholes and Spivs Party have been desperately trying to get Malware Trumble’s Shambles to parity in the polls with every one of their considerable means. It hasn’t worked. The ALP still has both an Election-winning lead in all of the polls, and a battle-ready, policy-rich team with none of the major weaknesses that beset the GASPers. Trumble is trapped. He doesn’t have the guts to go to an election this year. He will not get courage from Super Saturday – which will recapitulate the joy of the Irish. Aux armes, Citoyens!

I imagine Labor would be split on the issue but that’s not the issue here.

The issue here is the division within the Government on the issue!

    Pure irrelevant deflection!!

  25. Annika Smethurst’s latest:

Labor Boo! Think about the poor 500000 electors that have to vote now on Super Saturday!
    *sigh*
No mention of the ‘poor electors’ of Bennelong and New England.

  28. The other day’s Mumble on super Saturday by-election predictions:

    Perth and Fremantle: Labor retain
Longman: Labor retain but LNP gain at the next general election – PHON preferences influential here
Braddon: Liberal lean owing to its former MP recontesting
Mayo: Anyone’s guess, although not outside the realms of possibility that Labor wins the by-election, but loses the seat to Libs at next general election
