Newspoll: 53-47 to Labor

Back to normal from Newspoll after a blowout in Labor’s favour a fortnight ago.

Newspoll has Labor’s lead back at 53-47 after a 54-46 blowout a fortnight ago, with primary votes at 37% for the Coalition (up two), 38% for Labor (steady), 9% for the Greens (steady) and 8% for One Nation (down one). Both Malcolm Turnbull and Bill Shorten are on 34% approval and 54% disapproval, which means one-point drops in both for Turnbull, and no change for Shorten. Oddly, Malcolm Turnbull’s lead as preferred prime minister has blow out to 46-29, from 43-33. Paywalled report from The Australian here.

    Q
And I bet you that if someone can get of the actor’s signature it will not look anything like the forged signature on the fraudulent document forced out of Bill Shorten to try to hide his crimes.

I demand that the document be made available to forgery experts for a forensic investigation.

    NOW!!!!

You’re not taking this to well it seems.

Id’ve thought there would be relief amongst the alt-Shorten

  2. There are a lot of Buddhists in the world, and the vast majority of them have done nothing wrong. Why would Buddhism have suffered brand damage?

Have you traveled to Bali or Thailand ?

  3. So Shorten ignored Turnbull but responded to Abbott’s call for documentation. So was Shorten leading Turnbull and Abbott up the garden path to Leadershit?

It certainly has shown Turnbull as a nonentity who Shorten just ignores.

Nah, Shorten is not that clever, eh?

  5. A full audit is required.

Have Aung Sunn Su Kyi and/or Buddhism suffered brand damage among Greens Party supporters as a consequence of the Ethnic Cleansing cum Genocide in Myannmar?

Or don’t the Greens do goose gander?

Maybe I am alone in finding this kind of comment pretty distasteful, creating flippant political point scoring opportunities out of a humanitarian catastrophe.

  8. I usually skim past Rex’s posts, but I’m going to bite, just this once.

The term ‘alt ______’ is used to say “it’s like a crazy alternative to the completely normal and sensible thing, ______”

People using the term ‘alt right’ in the USA are trying to use it to offend neo nazis, without offending Republicans. Most of the point of using it is to try to emphasise to Republicans that the neo nazis are bad.

People using the term ‘alt left’ in the USA are trying to use it to offend Occupy etc, without offending Democrats. Most of the point of using it is to try to emphasise to Democrats that the Occupy movement etc is bad.

So, we have to ask what exactly Rex is saying using the term ‘alt Shorten’.

Hey, if you are a Bill Shorten, that’s a completely legitimate political view to hold. But don’t you hate the alt-shortens that are tarnishing your name by calling themselves Shorten, when they’re actually crazy radicals instead of sensible centrists like you.

I can only conclude that Rex believes he is talking to Bill Shorten, trying to convince Bill Shorten that Guytaur is bad.

Seriously Rex, it just doesn’t make any sense. Please stop.

The majority religion in Bali is Hindu, so your point is?

Lot of budhism too, been to both countries, kids for sale

With a population of 3,890,757 in the 2010 census, and 4,225,000 as of January 2014, the island of Bali is home to most of Indonesia’s Hindu minority. According to the 2010 Census, 83.5% of Bali’s population adhered to Balinese Hinduism, followed by 13.4% Muslim, Christianity at 2.5%, and Buddhism 0.5%.

    So your point is?

Mathias was the smart one (on this issue).

  11. I think everyone has missed the brilliance of Shorten’s strategy.

The LNP have howled from the rooftops for the last couple of weeks that Shorten needs to produce his renunciation documentation. Shorten, knowing he had it and also having a list of L/NP members whom Labor’s dirt unit had suspicions about, played Brian Trumble and Co in order that their demands became increasingly shrill and incessant over a couple of weeks. Having set the trap, Labor sat back and waited for Brian Trumble to wander in and spring it, which consistent with his appalling judgment he did today.

Having so brazenly and incompetently created the precedent for the presentation of renunciation documentation, I now expect a drop to a friendly journalist of the names of every L/NP member that the Labor dirt unit has suspicions about.

Now all Labor has to do it sit back and let the CPG do their dirty work for them.

Are the alt-Shorten supporters now angry with Bill for producing the papers ?

Well truthie you and all who sail in the good ship Liberal have been played again. ROFL (Revolutions On For Later).

  13. Fascinating that Bill Shorten’s letter mentions when he “applied” for “renunciation” and when it was “accepted”. Tone’s letter does absolutely none of that.

I think everyone has missed the brilliance of Shorten’s strategy.

Actually, I think most of us, barring our resident concern troll, the alt-Rex, got it.

  15. they sell their kids adrian, deal with it, it is totally fkd, dont try and excuse it

That’s not the issue and I’m not excusing anything.

You used Thailand and Bali as examples of Buddhist atrocities, despite me pointing out that the Buddhist population in Bali is about 0.5%.

Yes, yes but is it the SAME Ann Sudmalis?
I demand that she now proves that she is the same Ann Sudmalis as in the form.
And the printing done in capital letters is remarkably child like…
    Something fishy here.
    Sudmalis must come clean.
She has more questions to answer.

  18. Sudmalis has released a document that says there are no “records from October 1986” to show that Sudmalis obtained UK citizenship . What an absolute crock

  19. Edit: Yes, I am dumb and apparently can’t read forms. Ann did include her maiden name on that form, so the Brits would have worked it out.

  20. Boerwar – All that document says is that there are no records “since October 1986” that Sudmalis has obtained UK citizenship. It’s basically meaningless. What’s important is that Sudmalis has clearly never tried to renounce.

  21. Gees, just so much egg around on faces in the House today.
And the ABC? Well, when the TPP a la Newspoll, blew out to 54-46 last time, next to no comment about it. But today? Well doncha know it, Turnbull has ‘clawed back some ground in the polls’? And, the ABC can’t make up it’s mind if Shorten’s tabling of his citizenship papers came about because it was a brilliant tactic or he was forced into it by being goaded by Abbott/Turnbull et al. Maybe it was because the polls ‘fell’ for Shorten, the ABC ponder?
Never mind the current gap would put Labor into office and this has been the position for some time. All relative I suppose.

Yep ; the Liberals are now in for a world of pain.
