Barack Obama has polled 55 per cent of the vote in today’s Democratic primary in South Carolina, which has the country’s third highest proportion of African-Americans behind Mississippi and Louisiana. Hillary Clinton took second place with 27 per cent, ahead of John Edwards on 18 per cent.

Climate change- This coming budget provides ample opportunities Dyno.
He could begin by phasing out the diesel fuel rebate to farmers and phasing out the fringe benefits provided to people who drive company cars and use the scheme to provide incentives for people to take public transport. Tax credits here are a good idea.
Provide government money for projects such as Geothermal development and Solar, plenty of room in our desert regions for projects to commence.
Stop the pulp mill in Tassie, do the same in regards to channel deepening project in Victoria as ships use an abundance of greenhouse gases. Use it rail instead.
Put in place significant funds to plant trees for carbon capture.
Embrace public transport by decreasing the massive funding for road projects which goes on unabated. Increase the import duties even more on bigger gas guzzlers and reducing it for electric vehicles, provide tax breaks only for these vehicles. Slowly pour funds into public transport projects so to encourage greater freight use instead of truck frieght which is clogging our roads, increasing maintenance, causing vehicle collisions, road trauma, pollution, respiratory and other health probs… WHAT A WASTE trucks on roads are.

Well, I never expected to see that. David Brooks on PBS, with Jim Lehrer, giving his take on the Ted Kennedy endorsement, and it turns out he was actually there.
To see David Brooks, clearly give a little choke of emotion when he talked of seeing the patriach of the Democrats, the patriach of the Kennedy’s, and the living link with the days of American promise hand that torch to Obama, well, it was truly quite incredible.
Even Brooks, who usually looks like a surprised chipmunk, was obviously taken aback by his own feelings.
Unforgetable.
