Newspoll: 56-44 to Labor

Newspoll records another miserable result for the Coalition on voting intention, with a small amount of consolation for Scott Morrison on personal ratings.

The second Newspoll of the Scott Morrison era is no better for the Coalition than the first, with Labor maintaining its 56-44 lead. As reported in The Australian, both major parties are up a point on the primary vote, Labor to 42% and the Coalition to 34%. The minor party primary votes are still to come (UPDATE: Greens steady on 10%, One Nation down one to 6%). Newspoll skipped the personal ratings questions a fortnight ago, so its results this week are the first ever for Morrison, and the first in four weeks for Bill Shorten. Morrison is on 41% approval and 39% disapproval, while Shorten is up five on approval to 37% and down five on disapproval to 51%. However, Shorten has not replicated the 39-33 lead he recorded on preferred prime minister in the immediate wake of the leadership change, and now trails 42-36. The poll was conducted Thursday to Sunday from a sample of 1653.

You seem to be a very angry and belligerent poster. Can we help?

    DTT,

Where did you read this “possibly unreliable source” about Flynn?

    Cameron

I really cannot recall. I did not trust the source so I did not note it. I am not sure even if I could find it that I would link it given that I would not knowingly spread fake news

Thing is like comments on here sometimes they seem worth noting a little bit. Store the idea at the back of the mind and keep a look out for information that either confirms or debunks the idea.

So Flynn’s role in Turkey and Ukraine always slightly puzzled me – ex military intelligence guys playing in the big services for hire game. It is certainly possible. But the other option that he was still part of the “system”using the business man role as cover is also possible.

Perhaps oddly enough BOTH are true. I always believe that EVERY expat working overseas is part greedy, part simple dutiful employee and part spy. Only the relativity and percentages change.

To put this in perspective, in times of peace where we have good relations etc expats ho have normal jobs will be 99.9% ordinary. Those in the media or high level business perhaps 80/20.

However once there is a tense situation or some national security objective, even the most mild mannered and politically involved expat may be approached by national security people and asked to assist if they are in a position of knowledge or influence. I would think that 90% of expats would be keen to help if so approached.

In the case of someone like Flynn it is almost certain that on occasion they would be approached by security people for information or access etc. The fact that Flynn was most active in Turkey sets my antennae wiggling, given the key role of Turkey in spying during the Cold war and of course of its current pivotal role geographically

So Cameron NO I am not agreeing with the suggestion not even promoting it. I simply have read it and cannot dismiss it and say impossible.

  3. You….are….so…full….of….shit

Nope. Every bit is true. Your choice to believe or not.

You could go search through all my posts and see if you can find any antisemitic statements. I am confident you wont find a single one.

  4. There we go. I thought Gonzo-berg was all stunt man with no preparation and dramatic anticlimax, left wandering with a saucepan on his head.

But no, it’s all SK tapping into an antisemitic trope.

    Yeah, nah.

  5. When I asked what exactly you meant by that comment re Gonzo and Frydenberg you replied:
    _______________________________
The truth may be out there, but you can never be sure of exactly where it is atr any given moment and how fast it is travelling.

It seems that the truth has travelled a little bit and now its about hypnotising chickens and a ‘facial resemblance’. I call bullshit on that.

Yes, Republicans would oppose DC getting Senators. The again, Texas entered the Union under slightly different terms to other states, one of which I think is the ability to divide into five states – now that would really increase the Red in the senate (for now at least).

    RR

    How interesting.

Of course that would be the strategy of the reds if the blues let Puerto Rico in.

California might retaliate and divide into three

  7. Greg Jennet hastens to assure viewers that having an interview with a Labor spokesperson on NBN does not mean ABC is presuming anything. LOL

  8. Scott Morrison opens the first question time since he became prime minister with a statement acknowledging he is not prime minister.

  9. Shellbell says:

Who would be Beaker and Dr Bunsen Honeydew?

Brandis had a lock om Honeydew and with his habit of wearing a neck too small for his shirt Hunt gets my vote for Beaker.

As for the accusations of antisemitism against SK . FMD !

  10. Well, I am shocked. I was completely unaware that comparing Gonzo to Frydenberg could be construed as anti-Semitic. Gonzos nose played no part either consciously or subconsciously in my post. I was until just now blissfully unaware of any nose related link to the religion. Frydenberg’s religious beliefs are of no interest to me.

If I have offended you nath, I apologise.

The “obviously” part of my post was a joke – as it is obvious that none of the Coalition politicians are in fact anything like a Muppet character.

Pure xenophobia from the Trumpo-Putinist troll.

….nationalist, phobic, reactionary, conspiratorial, pseudo-Left rationalisations

Because The Muppets are largely capable of singing the from same song-sheet and choreography?

A fair go to those who want to have a go. Yay!”

Whenever I see this slogan, I always think of the cricketing term “Have a go ya mug!”

Mad keen to learn all about your love of religious freedom (aka privileges) ScoMo. Beats any concern for social and economic inequality or even a livivng wage.
Any more of your personal beliefs that you intend to privilege over democracy?
