  1. Stop avoiding th point , you had a choice support ‘oz’ farmers and exporters and condemn Obama for that protectionist policys or don’t support protecting oz’ farmers and pretend Obama ids perfect…you chose th latter , pretty ordinary

  2. Avoiding the point? Give me a break. I know Obama isn’t perfect, but protectionist policies isn’t enough to make me think grandpa is a better choice.

Now, are you going to answer my question? Why are you only tearing strips off Obama, Mr so-called abstainer?

  3. You had a simple choice that any objective Australian of ANY political Party would go for..ie. support ‘oz’ farmers & exporters and condemn ANY protectionist US politcan for that particular protectionist policy

You were NOT asked to abandon your support of oiliness at all , so don’t try that on , simply to condemn oiliness for his protectionist policy that hurts ‘oz’ farming and exporters interests

And you failed to do so because your oiliness partisanship completely supersedes ‘oz’ interests , you just backed yourself into a corner

I highlight oiliness simply because ALL you guys ONLY criticise maverick otherwise I would but yous do it form me !! NONE of you will criticise Obama on ANYTHING

So get back to th point you will not condemn Obama on protectionism , you apparently prefer to protect oiliness perfectness to ‘oz’ farming and exporter interests , thats worse than ordinary

  4. NSW Police Minister Matt Brown was sacked three days into the job last night after admitting a wild party in parliament house where he danced semi-naked and simulated a sex act on a female MP.

Gee, that makes Troy Buswell look like a Boy Scout 🙂

  5. NSW Police Minister Matt Brown was sacked three days into the job last night after admitting a wild party in parliament house where he danced semi-naked and simulated a sex act on a female MP.

And note for our Liberal leaning bludgers that this person fell on his sword and was removed, unlike Mr Buswell 🙂

  6. [You had a simple choice that any objective Australian of ANY political Party would go for..ie. support ‘oz’ farmers & exporters and condemn ANY protectionist US politcan for that particular protectionist policy]

Rubbish. The US can make countless decisions that can affect Australia in so many ways. Should protectionism take precedence above all others, including invading Iraq for example?

[You were NOT asked to abandon your support of oiliness at all , so don’t try that on , simply to condemn oiliness for his protectionist policy that hurts ‘oz’ farming and exporters interests]

If it helps you sleep at night ron… Obama you bad, bad man for having nasty protectionist policies that grandpa probably will too because he is Mr flip-flop and we have no idea what he will do

[And you failed to do so because your oiliness partisanship completely supersedes ‘oz’ interests , you just backed yourself into a corner]

I am in no corner and you indgnance is quite pathetic

[I highlight oiliness simply because ALL you guys ONLY criticise maverick otherwise I would but yous do it form me !! NONE of you will criticise Obama on ANYTHING]

BS you do. Having a mouthful of sour grapes only stops some of the words coming out, and they are easy to spot.

[So get back to th point you will not condemn Obama on protectionism , you apparently prefer to protect oiliness perfectness to ‘oz’ farming and exporter interests , thats worse than ordinary]

I will if it makes you happy, but I know he isn’t perfect and am not going to change my opinion of him over that vs grandpa flip-flop and sidekick gun-toter faux-reformer with lipstick

[So get back to th point you will not condemn Obama on protectionism , you apparently prefer to protect oiliness perfectness to ‘oz’ farming and exporter interests , thats worse than ordinary]

You had a point? I prefer Obama with his failings to grandpa flip-flop and his, and your insane rationale of simply protectionist policies being enough of a reason to change my opinion will do nothing of the sort. Great rant though, sour graper.

  7. Wow, I even responded to one of your remarks twice for good measure! Sweet! I guess that’s what happens when you’re watching football at the same time…

  8. Your personal comments do not hide th fact that you were not asked to abandon oiliness but simply to condemn oiliness for his protectionism hurting oz farmers & exporters You ar now upset because your credibilty has been adversely affected by your foolish desire never to criticise oiliness on such a basic overall policy

  9. Hahahahahahahahahahaha I’m not upset at all, sour-graper. Just because you didn’t get the answer you wanted (or the candidate you wanted) don’t get all sulky, sour-graper. Being an anonymous poster on a political blog I don’t have any credibility to start with, sour-graper! Methinks you should take a Bex and have a lie down, sour-graper.

  10. Guess th above is far too hot for any blogger to comment on which is understandable Assume bloggers will continue to absolutely demand all ‘left’ posters must support oiliness , otherwise they ar definitely poor losers (and there is therefore by definition no place allowed for conscious objectors on principals or value judgment) Well notwithstanding I still don’t support oiliness and people hav every right to think th worst that if they wish , thats politcs

  11. Ron, you do know that we already have a free trade agreement with the U.S. so that whatever the policies of the candidates our exporters, and particularly, farmers already have all they are ever likely to get?

While any agreement can be broken it is very unlikely that any future U. S. administration would. The biggest danger to our farmers, other than the environment, is U.S. and EU farm subsidies and it’ll be a very “brave” President who scraps them.

    Diogenes @ 997 –

Just hitting the right city was hard enough. The USAAF once bombed Prague – in daylight – believing it to be Dresden.

    Please tell me you’re kidding!

The problem there was one of navigation. However, yes, at high altitude bombing was very much a hit and miss affair, with the emphasis on ‘miss.’

The theoretical accuracy radius – Circular Error Probable (CEP) – of the Norden bomb sight was 3,600ft from 25,000ft. However, in practise even the best crews rarely managed a CEP of better than a mile under ideal conditions in training. To put that into perspective, if the target was Queen Victoria’s statue in the centre of Adelaide then you wouldn’t want to be batting on Adelaide Oval, placing a bet with the bookies at Victoria Park or on a sideshow alley ride!

In less than ideal weather with the target shooting back it was many times that. Flying at night the RAF did even worse.

But much better accuracy was possibly. For example RAF Pathfinder target markers achieved very good results by diving in low. It’s a matter of debate whether casualties would have been any higher if all RAF squadrons had used the same tactic.

In Vietnam RAAF Canberras using essentially the same equipment were reliably lobbing bombs within a 70ft CEP from 1-3,000ft, effectively 100% accuracy given the destructive range of a 750lb GP bomb. from 1-3,000ft, effectively 100% accuracy given the destructive range of a 750lb GP bomb.
