BludgerTrack: 52.4-47.6 to Labor

Poll trend latest: Coalition and Malcolm Turnbull up, One Nation down, two-party picture unchanged.

The only poll this week was a Newspoll that gave the Coalition its best result since last April, but given the pollster’s stability over that time, that isn’t saying all that much. Certainly it hasn’t made much difference to BludgerTrack, on which the Coalition improves only on the primary vote, and that at One Nation’s expense rather than Labor’s. The Coalition is up one on the seat projection in Queensland, but down one in Western Australia. The change is more noticeable on the leadership ratings, which find Malcolm Turnbull’s net approval trend picking up sharply, and confirms his recent uptick on preferred prime minister.

  1. Barnaby really needs to think about his future as DPM. Just as happened with the Robert Doyle stories now coming out about his predatory behaviours against young girls over the years, more is surely to be exposed re Joyce.

  2. Oh dear whilst Trump continues to create crisis after crisis in the WH, we have dtt posting ridiculously stupid comments that I usually ignore

QUEENSLAND voters have swung back behind the Turnbull Government, showing increased scepticism of a Shorten-led Labor Party and extinguishing the firepower behind political phoenix Pauline Hanson.

‘She DID see her mother’: Susan Lamb’s ‘deeply hurt’ stepmum disputes MP’s citizenship story after she had stunned parliament with revelation her parent ‘abandoned’ her when she was just six.”

The stepmother of Susan Lamb has added doubt to the politician’s claims of abandonment she made through tears in Parliament on Wednesday.

The Queensland MP broke down when she claimed she could not renounce her British citizenship because her mother abandoned her at the school gates when she was six, and ‘is not around’ to provide her marriage certificate.

But her stepmother Maureen Cant said on Friday she was ‘deeply hurt and upset’ by the story, claiming Ms Lamb lived with her mother Hazel as recently as her wedding.
‘She did see her mother,’ Ms Cant told The Courier Mail.

‘She lived with her, she got married while living with her. My husband and I went to the wedding. Her mother helped organise the wedding.’

Ms Cant – who was married to Ms Lamb’s father for more than 20 years – said the day her mother ‘never came back’ was when her parents separated and a friend was arranged to pick her up.

She claimed her mother then fought for custody of Ms Lamb, who turned her away in favour of her father and herself.

‘I am not friendly with her mother. I am not enemies, but the things she is saying about her mother I cannot understand,’ Ms Cant said.

‘I was there when her mother had access to her, she saw her on weekends whenever she could. Her mother tried to get custody of the girls just before her father and I got married.’

Fark, Zanetti is a pathetically bad cartoonist. Is he there just to make the others look good, BK?

They definitely lack insight into the human condition.

  8. someone else might have said it but today the eh us congress voted to ban sexual relations between pollies (supervisors) and staff — fallout from harrassment culture – once again public pays high price for turnbull’s blood oath with nationals – barnaby will go, his position is untenable anyway msm are killing him and why would any young woman put up with infamy- as usual lp behind – staffers, change jobs quickly, not after the event and with PM blessing, if you want to play with the boss – and pollies, hands off office staff

ps was joyce subject of past abuse claims by office staff …. is he protected by turnbull?
