BludgerTrack: 52.7-47.3 to Labor

The gap between Labor and the Coalition widens in this week’s poll aggregate reading, on the strength of similar results from Newspoll and Essential Research.

Bit late with this one due to the distractions of last week, but the latest reading of the BludgerTrack poll aggregate records discernible movement to Labor after a period of stasis, with both Newspoll and Essential Research recording 53-47 leads to Labor. Labor is up three on the seat projection, with gains in New South Wales, Victoria and Queensland. Both pollsters produced leadership ratings this week, but they haven’t made much difference to the relevant aggregates.

  1. I see that Boerwar is up to his usual Greens-bashing, this time using the US election as an excuse. The problem is, his math is off. If you simply remove the Green Party, and assign ALL of their voters to Clinton, she still loses Pennsylvania and Florida – and with them, the election. In PA, she’s 77,000 votes behind Trump – Stein received 48,500. In FL, she’s 120,000 votes behind Trump – Stein received 64,000. Wisconsin and Michigan would flip blue – barely – without the Greens, but that would still leave Clinton at 258 EV – close, but 270 is the mark. Stein’s total absence from the election would not, therefore, lead to a Clinton victory.

But then, Boerwar’s never been one to let facts get in the way of his Greens-bashing.

  2. I’ve just noticed that there were no posts between 3.24 and 5.03, none that I have received anyway. Can someone please confirm that this is right. It seems like an awfully long silence for PB.

I cannot see anything at 3.24 but can see 3.40 and then 5.03…and then 5.49 to 8.58.

    The sails have slackened.

  4. There just has to be more to this story than three people arresting while snorkelling. The odds of that are about a google to one.
“TWO French tourists have died and another suffered a heart attack while snorkelling on the Great Barrier Reef off Cairns today.

Authorities confirmed the visitors, all in their sixties with pre-existing medical conditions, went into cardiac arrest while snorkelling in shallow water at Michaelmas Cay about 11am.”

  6. I don’t need a drink but I am having one. To wash the bitter taste from my mouth. Like I have just watched a blowfly set up house in my pavlova.
