GhostWhoVotes reports that Newspoll’s bi-monthly New South Wales state poll for March-April shows no significant change on January-February, with the Coalition holding a crushing 61-39 lead on two-party preferred (up from 60-40) from primary votes of 48% for the Coalition (up two), 28% for Labor (up one) and 10% for the Greens (down one). Barry O’Farrell’s approval rating is up one to 44% and disapproval steady on 38%, while John Robertson is steady on 28% and down one to 34%. O’Farrell’s lead as preferred premier is up from 48-19 to 52-20.
Newspoll: 61-39 to Coalition in NSW
Same old same old from Newspoll in New South Wales.
Ouch. Any change the PM may have made from her visit is now gone
And yet Labor keep Robertson.
And yet Labor keep Gillard.
They really are suicidal headless chooks.
the federal election will be a NSW and Queensland election repeat
The PM’s visit made no difference whatsoever. The Labor party made an informed decision in march to jump of a cliff together. Unfortunately no one feels like putting a net at the bottom of the cliff. Hopefully the defeat will be epic enough to get rid of some of the dross that keep Julia in the job. My fear is the factional nongs who put her in may be the only survivors. Ho Hum. Still looking for a good gig on the 14th if anyone knows one.
I really can’t call this “steady as she sinks”. The NSW Labor ship has already sunk. It is now resting safely on the bottom.
This won’t improve till all the inquiries into Labor corruption end, or are displaced by a Liberal corruption scandal. For all that coalition rightwingnuts go on about the need for IR legislation, a far more effective means to smash union membership seems to be to audit the union’s finances, and make the results public.
News Ltd. commissioned Newspoll – mmmmmmmmm……
This is really a remarkable result this far down the track. If they get anywhere near the result they got last time when the election comes around in 2015, it is looking like the ALP will not be able to recover by 2019 and hence it is 2023 before the ALP have a chance in NSW….
like WOW!
Like WOW, the ALP was in government from 1995 to 2011 – 16 years and 2011 to 2023 is 12 years, so what is your point?
Good a thrashing!
What was his name, Eddie Obeid was it? The scum has done well.
Not to mention the removal of Morris Iemma, it didn’t stop there, then they got rid of Nathan Rees.
If Barry O’Farrel shows integrity and disallows James “gets what he wants” Packer’s bid for a second Sydney casino across the water from the existing casino, I will never vote against Fatty O.
Where do you look for integrity with our political parties in NSW if Packer is given a casino?
They can all go and get fuacked!
i reckon if john robertson had any sense he should resign as leader and announce his retirement from politics either at 2015 or immediately.
in his place there should either be linda burned or michael daley as leader. or even perhaps another leader altogether to be drafted into blacktown.
this should crucially happen now as to get rid of robbos pathetic image for tearing down lemma and give the party a cleaner slate and break for the image at the federal election.
