Donation drive

Every two months this site runs a post to raise awareness about its dependence on readers’ contributions – usually at the end of the month, but I’ve brought it forward on this occasion to maximise exposure from tomorrow’s Western Australian election. Donations can be made through the “become a supporter” links that appear in the blue bar at the top of the site and the red buttons at the bottom of each post.

To offer some insight into the extent of my efforts of late, and also to help you find your way around:

• I’m planning on publishing live results from the Western Australian election tomorrow night and in the days that follow, in a format similar to the one you can see here for the Queensland election. I’m fairly confident that everything will run smoothly on this occasion.

• My critically acclaimed guide to the Western Australian state election can be found here, telling you everything you want or need to know about tomorrow’s big day and no doubt more besides. It features detailed overviews of each of the 59 lower house seats and six multi-member upper house regions, including interactive maps and past results displays, together with a general overview of the electoral terrain.

• My latest post on the Western Australian election is below this one; among other things, it relates today’s small-sample YouGov poll in The West Australian showing Labor ahead 60-40 in Zak Kirkup’s seat of Dawesville (and also the belief of Labor strategists that it will be quite a bit tighter than that).

• A new federal post and general discussion thread can be found in the next post along.
