Essential Research: 50-50

Results of a poll conducted concurrently with the election on the weekend, and a place for general discussion of the election aftermath.

Kind of old news now, but Essential Research didn’t let Saturday’s election stop them conduct their usual weekly poll, results of which were published on Tuesday and can be found here. I’m continuing to follow the progress of the count here, so you are invited to discuss count-related matters there while continuing discussion of a more general nature here.

  1. I see Malcolm is already slipping in Essential – net approval for Mal is -11 (last week 0), Bill -2 (same as last week). Might be a tough ride for our fearless PM.

  2. daretotread you don’t think perhaps the left are fed up with the Greens taking their members and weakening the left in the labor party?

  3. question: How would the AEC know if I voted multiple times on polling day, ie got my name struck off on 7 separate polling booths. Do they check every roll for multiple cross offs?

  4. Henry

Yep, the rolls are scanned electronically. Remember the little mark the AEC official made next to your name?

Back when I was an AEC path home they started scanning the rolls on the Saturday night. If you voted seven times it would be found fairly quickly
