The monthly Resolve Strategic poll for Nine Newspapers joins most others in showing One Nation leading on the primary vote in its latest monthly result, with a five-point surge placing them at 29%. Labor is down one to 28%, the Coalition are down three to 20% (16% among women, equal with the Greens), and the Greens are steady on 12%.
Anthony Albanese’s combined very good and good rating is up one to 35%, while his poor and very poor rating is down one to 55%. Angus Taylor is respectively up one to 38% and up three to 32%. This pollster has been unusual in having Angus Taylor leading Anthony Albanese on preferred prime minister and does so again now, though the margin has narrowed from 33-30 to 32-31. A three-way preferred prime minister question, asked for the first time, suggests most of those favouring Taylor over Albanese in fact prefer Pauline Hanson to either: she is at 33% compared with 29% for Albanese and 16% for Taylor.
The poll again inquired about the three main contentious budget measures, finding 33% in favour of the negative gearing changes (down two on last month) with 26% opposed (up five); 31% in favour of the capital gains tax measures (down five) and 31% opposed (up 10); and 29% in favour of the changes to taxing of family trusts (down five) and 34% opposed (up 11). The poll was conducted Monday to Saturday from a sample of 1801.
Albo fell off the stage. Albo tried to say he ‘stumbled’ or stepped off the stage. For some reason he made a distinction and was picked apart for it. Later he admitted to ‘falling off a stage’. So… An own goal.
Yeah, i was going to make that point. However, Trump hasn’t threatened to invade anyone for at least weeks now, surely he’s due. We beat them in the World Cup on Saturday, it could happen.
I really do think trying Hanson to Trump is probably one of the better ways of tackling One Nation.

It feeds into accusations of dishonesty in relation to the tax changes.
Albo should have sold the changes better. A broadcast to the entire nation to explain why he was changing his mind.
I listened to Chalmers talking about the changes the other day and he did a great job.
Perhaps, Albo is just too fragile on economic policies to really sell it. It didn’t seem to me like had done a good job doing it.
Look, the most important issue of our times is that we get to decide who falls off a stage and the circumstances in which they fall.

Lynchpin like the onion incident the stage incident is of no consequence in the issues affecting all our lives. However that doesn’t stop parties trying to make them important issues. Most people can see through all that.

Labor is hopeless. People are undoubtedly worse off economically. Govt raises taxes and lies about it being a tax grab. People want much less immigration. Govt won’t listen. The ministers are incompetent, especially Bowen. Govt wanted to divide people based on race. Aussies are dragged through court for wanting to keep men off female dating apps, or for raising concerns about sexually explicit school lessons, or objecting to drag queens reading to children. Men and boys are suiciding at horrific rates. Fertility rates are at all time lows. A generation of screen addicted, AI dependent dumbarses are entering the workforce.
What, no cause for concern? ON probably can’t fix any of the above, but they just might try.
Some clever folk here want to screech about Gina. Seriously? With all of the special interests, unions and big business that have been lining the pockets of the majors for decades, and you want to begrudge OH some donations from one donor?
Or the whole MAGA copy cat narrative. Get real. She’s been saying what she says long before Trump was in politics.
Anyway, let’s see what happens. We’re a long way from an election (maybe), but my sense is it will be very hard for Labor to recover ground. It all downhill for them from here, even if some true believers are in denial about it.

Maybe she is a good operator behind the scenes, as she seems powerful within the party, because listening to her is an ordeal. She can’t string a coherent sentence together and seems completely out of her league in Senate Estimates. Bumbling and arrogance don’t mix well.
