Newspoll has turned in a result for its three-weekly federal poll which, if nothing else, shows it’s not letting the May election result prevent it from publishing optimistic-looking numbers for Labor. As related in The Australian ($), the latest poll has the major parties tied on two-party preferred, after four successive results of 51-49 in favour of the Coalition.
The Coalition is down two on the primary vote to 40%, with Labor up two to 35%, the Greens down one to 12% and One Nation up one to 7%. Anthony Albanese enjoys some encouraging movement on personal ratings, with approval up five to 42% and disapproval down seven to 37%. However, Scott Morrison’s ratings are little changed, with approval down one to 46% and disapproval down two to 43%, and his lead as preferred prime minister narrows only marginally, from 47-32 to 46-32.
The poll was conducted Thursday to Sunday from a sample of 1682.

An ex treasurer of Australia and a Prime Minister have often been photographed with what could be described as a “smug” expression. Could this be an indicator of a “*Narcissistic personality disorder” ❓
*Narcissistic personality disorder (NPD) involves a pattern of self-centered, arrogant thinking and behavior, a lack of empathy and consideration for other people, and an excessive need for admiration. Others often describe people with NPD as cocky, manipulative, selfish, patronizing, and demanding.
P.S. Remember – this is not the time to talk about “Global Warming”.

Well, they’ve developed the convenient mantra, otherwise known as an excuse for their actions, that the Coalition are beyond hope so they don’t bother with them.
Yet it is exactly the Coalition VOTERS that The Greens should be trying to assist Labor in prising them off the Coalition, and what better issue to do it with than Global Overheating and Climate Change?
Who knows, it might actually be a path to winning 1 or 2 of The Greens’ much sought after funky inner city seats, and Labor will thank them for their preferences and may win another 1 or 2 of them off the Liberals as well. I mean, that’s the way it’s looking like going after all.
But no, it’s all just, keep poking Labor in the ribs, which as I said yesterday, suits the Coalition just fine. The Coalition get on with their dirty venal business, while The Greens squabble pointlessly with Labor.

The large out of control fire ~25km away from me has now burnt through most of the top of the mountain. So far it has stayed up there and hasn’t ventured down. It must be torture for the people who live in the towns surrounding and on the sides of it though. It’s been back and forth between ’emergency’ and ‘watch and act’ for the last couple of days.
Where this fire is burning is Greens heartland. One of the large Stop Adani rallies was held in the town of Mullumbimby, which is at the foot of the mountain where the fire is. These people know who is responsible for their suffering. Morrison, Berejiklian and Premier Adani Palaszczuk can shove their crocodile tears because we aren’t being fooled.
