Scott Morrison is Australia’s sixth prime minister in eleven years, having prevailed in the second round of the party room vote by 45 votes to 40. Julie Bishop was eliminated after the first round: there are reports the vote was Dutton 38, Morrison 36 and Bishop 11. Josh Frydenberg replaces Julie Bishop after nearly eleven years as deputy, having won 46 votes against 20 for Steve Ciobo and 16 for Greg Hunt. Over to you.
Michael McCormack is such a nobody.
Amy Remeikis constantly describes him in QT as lacking personality..
Edit: The only thing he is known for is writing a homophobic piece in the Wagga Daily Advertisor as Editor.
I’m getting the impression that Matthias just ain’t all that smart. He looks the part with his prime ministerial “do”, handsome features and deep voice. But he’s in over his head.

Does anyone know who the Green’s selected to run in Wentworth? It was supposed to be announced at 10 am this morning.”
From Guardian article:
The Greens are planning to run Dominic Wy Kanak, Waverley’s deputy mayor, who enjoys a high profile in Bondi.

“Perhaps the reason Morrison polled the fewest votes is because nobody knows who he is”.
Let’s rephrase that:
Perhaps the reason Morrison polled the fewest votes is because everybody knows who he is.
OMG!!!!
The LNP completely self-immolate.
But the reporting is all about the LNP!!!
What about Labor!!!!!!!
Place angry angry red faced emoji here
Does anyone know how many votes Julie got. There is a mysterious gap there.
briefly @ #589 Friday, August 24th, 2018 – 7:45 pm
I say this in the most polite way, “Crap”. Most voters would not care a fig. They would have gone about their daily business and found it just the same as any other day. All that has been going on merely confirming for them why pollies fight neck and neck with used car salesmen for the bottom of the trust table.
Observer@7:47pm
I never expected Hunt to be in the group of betrayers. The betrayers were aided and abetted by Cormann and Fifield. Fifield is from Victoria and deputy leader of LNP in Senate. He betrayed his leaders twice. Once against Abbott and now against MT.
Dutton got 38 in first round and got 40 in the second round.
Bishop got 11 votes thereabouts.
D & M
The Greens have preselected Dominic Wy Kanak as its candidate in Wentworth.
https://outline.com/RTTf5X
THE Greens have announced Waverley deputy mayor Dominic Wy Kanak as their candidate for Wentworth just hours before Prime Minister Malcolm Turnbull faces a leadership spill which will likely see him quit parliament.
:::::
Cr Wy Kanak is an experienced politician who has served on Waverley Council since 1999.
ALP’s finest Kimberly Kitching and mate Bruce Hawker are hanging out with Andrew Bolt
I think staying out of it is a good idea, as muchly tempting it is to deliver a thunk to the back of the neck of the enemy when he is down. The voters may just see hypocrisy in the ALP for criticising Lib leader assassinations.
Anton@7:55pm
According to Bowe, Bishop got 11 votes. Hartcher used to say how popular Bishop is among LNP MPs. But actually when it came to vote she got 11. It appears nobody is loyal to anybody in LNP
Has there been a Nats leader in modern history with a lower profile or public recognition than McCormack? Since I can recall they’ve all enjoyed reasonably high profiles in their own right.
Aaahh, Nikki Savva!!

And to team up with Michaelia”slow talkin, white boardin”, Cash – shows rocks in his head.
What a dope.
And listening to him trying to mansplain his decision, was nothing short of delicious, if you like watching a manly man gorging on crow.

I maintained that JBishop’s leadership would never be accepted by the Big Swinging Dicks in the Liberal party, even though she represented the best chance the party had to save the furniture post Malcolm.
This has all got a Jesus Christy, Last Supper feel about it , hasn’t it?
And I think the ABC’s reportage has been almost New Testament like when it came to the Libs. and their new Messiah.
Yes, Bishop got 11 votes.
Julia Baird wrote about J’s unsuccessful bid.

I maintain that she would have been pathetic as PM.
The main problem for the Liberals is that none of the guys will be any better.
I’m sure they’re only doing reconnaissance.
Barney:
I agree Morrison/Frydenberg are not so much B Team as D Team.
But Bishop at least is known by voters and therefore has an advantage over her leadership challengers.
She might have baggage, but I’ve been a fan of Kitching in the Senate. Good selection.
In honour of Dutton let us all do teh………….

Come to think of it MT even made Cormann the acting PM by-passing acting Deputy PM Nigel Scullion when Joyce was fighting New England by-election.
Somebody compared Cormann to Brutus.
Ven, thanks. Missed that above. Only 11. My God! The view of her in the wider community is obviously not shared in the party room.

I think this is the 3rd time you’ve breathlessly posted this in 2 days! Do you have to!?!
The downside of all this is more air time for shouty mcshouty face in QT
No doubt that Bishop would have been the best choice of those available.
Ken Hinkley might need a new job.
I just want to be young again.
I am sure Jewels would have been a pathetic PM. But she could have pulled a few votes back to the Libs, in the election. But she never had a chance, being as she has her reproductive organs located inside her body instead of hanging out for the insects to bite. (What was Mother Nature thinking with that design?)

As am I. However, some people are so puerile in their perspective that they can’t see the wisdom in attempting to appeal to your enemy’s followers by appearing on their turf.

Anyway, it wasn’t stalking. It was a heartfelt plea. 🙂
Judas is said to have betrayed Christ. Barabas was I think the thief that was pardoned in Jesus’ place
Vic:
I do have some sympathy for PvO’s view that Dutton and the forces behind him should be allowed (forced?) to own the mess they’ve made of the party this week.
As it stands Morrison will lead the party into opposition, Abbott, Andrews, Abetz will keep their seats, and maybe Dutton will be ousted by voters doing it not as party leader as he agitated for.
FFS, C@t, she was responding to someone who asked who the Greens had preselected in Wentworth.
Adrian, voters have just endured a week watching the one thing they most despise in politics and that is politicians fighting one another. The absolute last thing Labor should do is identify itself as a combatant, participant, beneficiary of or complement to this completely deplorable spectacle.
Go door knocking. Ask voters what they think about politics. They will tell you very quickly that they are totally repelled by the fighting. They deeply resent it. Labor are very very wise to make sure they are not associated with this. Voters will remember that the a severely divided Liberal Party put the country through a week of truculence.
https://www.macrobusiness.com.au/2018/08/scott-morrison-patsy/
This articles argues why Scott Morrison was elected as Liberal leader.
“Well, at times like these I like to pare stuff back to its essence. ScoMo has been put into the Big Chair by 45 career-trashed desperadoes who will do anything, and when I say anything I put the emphasis on anything, to not lose the fat salary that they are way too dumb to attract in the private sector, the fat pension on the end of it, and the prestige that has fatally corrupted any notion of a future normal life.
His job description is simple. Win the f****** election you prick.”

The first question the ABC asked Shorten was about his involvement in knifing others.
morisson gets multiple blow jobs from most abc commentators.
I’ve not trusted the abc for yonks – and for good reason.

turnbull knifed nelson
abbott knifed turnbull
abbott/ dutton/ mesma knifed turnbull
none of the above gets a mention.
