The only poll this week was a slightly-less-bad-for-the-government result from Essential Research, which takes some of the edge off last week’s surge to Labor. The Coalition’s two gains on the seat projection consist of one apiece in Queensland and Western Australia. No new results on leadership ratings this week.
BludgerTrack: 53.6-46.4 to Labor
Very slightly better news on the poll front this week for the Coalition, although Labor maintains its thumping lead on the BludgerTrack poll aggregate.

LOL yes there is a tradition of going buff on Bluff Knoll esp in wintry conditions 😀
Rex,
Is Greens still protecting their leaders Farm of cheap Labour ?
Some things are best experienced in the nude.
And some things aren’t!!
There goes the mood. Not even candles and the finest Pinot can bring it back now.

A bit of drivers sun tan going on there.

The late PBer Vera would be not so quietly puking at that image! “Yuk, all that chest fur” she once commented here when that image was circulating more widely. I so miss Vera sometimes. She was a character.

That was not kind!

If she’s an Albany woman she probably spends a lot of time driving north 🙂
Very observant Ctar1.
The fools want to put Hammock Boy into O’Dwyer’s place. No hint of whether he wants the gig.

lizzie:
If Costello is the answer to Vic Lib woes then the party has effectively wasted the last decade it should’ve been rebuilding.

Another sign that Libs are fond of looking backwards to the future.

It begs for “then it must have been a very stupid question”
confessions @ #213 Saturday, September 2nd, 2017 – 6:31 pm
If Costello is the answer, one shudders to think what the question must have been!
Well, if Costello is drafted and slots in a treasurer, Mal can rest easy.
Given the Liberals knowledge of economics, they probably think if they get Costello in parliament, surpluses will automagically follow.
Like Magic, John.
Costello would have to work too hard.
He’d be thinking it’s better to retire while he’s ahead.
lizzie, poroti, P1:
I discounted chatter earlier this week about a Costello revival, but now I’m of the view the Vic Libs would possibly be stupid enough to try it.
Well it was Abbott’s economic plan in 2013.

Or another distraction from citizenship.
The root cause of the drive is to get rid of ODwyer, as revenge for the superannuation tax changes.
The action is serious, just not necessarily the Costello part
lizzie:
The man in the middle looks like my local MP Rick Wilson .
The Liberal assumption was always that they just needed to be the Government for everything to be fixed.
That hasn’t worked, so the missing piece must be Costello.
What could be wrong with that logic?
Unreal!!
JR:
That was reported a few weeks ago. A backlash against her on policy.
But given the cabinet would’ve signed off on the changes, why not go after the Treasurer or the PM?
lizzie
WTF!!!!!!!!!
Barney in Go Dau
One must look after your sponsors 🙁
O’Dyer and Cash both considered wasteable tokens in the Libs internal war.
Tories, LNP like Trump will always attack the Youth:

I believe that Indue card is connected to LNP. I can’t find the reference.

FMD, but not surprising unfortunately.
Turnbull’s posturing on energy prices is so very false.
This article from the AFR on the disfunctional relationship between POTUS and Secretary of State Tillerson is, at one level hilarious .
The writer analyses the actions of the president as if he is a rational human being. And is trying to guess what strategy is behind the White House on foreign policy.
Of course we are all lucky we dodged the bullet with Hilary. Even despite the microwaves.

If Ardern wins in NZ, does that mean the electorate were just wanting someone (anyone?, articulate?, smart?) different from her predecessor?
Also on the approved list “Charles Tyrwhitt”
London shirts !!!
Are we surprised? The Libs governing for the vested interests, not the national interests after all. 🙁

Shame they don’t look into those who decided to send them to Afghanistan and Iraq.

Question about NZ politics: Have the brocialists and keyboard warriors gone after Jacinda Arden yet because, despite maybe agreeing with her policies, there’s “something about her they don’t like”?
lizzie @ #229 Saturday, September 2nd, 2017 – 6:51 pm
The list is pretty comprehensive. Not sure cardholders are missing out on much.
Rex, do you think anyone receiving the disgraceful pittance of Newstart is really going to buy clothes from Country Road or accessories from Colette Hayman?.
Vinnies or Lifeline more like. who aren’t on the list. Pumpkinpatch is, and they went out of business in 2016.
The Libs are just trolling us now.
